Susan frowned, ignoring the way Seamus' Irish accent made him sound impossibly charming. She'd been quite certain that Seamus was behind this -- he practically lived for these kinds of pranks, after all -- but now she was beginning to doubt herself. That, and she absolutely did not want to think about Boogie Boy sending her flowers. One would think that after all these years the man would have taken a hint.
"I sincerely doubt that Lawrence would send me anything that would cause this," she bit out, drawing up the sleeve of her robes to show Seamus the result of handling those seemingly harmless, pretty flowers. "And if he did, he should know better than to think he had a chance now that Ryan is away. He'll come back." She sounded more confident than she was. She hadn't actually told anyone that Ryan had proposed to her, only to break up with her when she refused to abandon her training halfway through to come with him. The whole thing was a sore point, and it rubbed at her every day. Truth be told, she was lonely without Ryan. She'd even been pleased to receive those flowers, until the itching had started.
