As a rule Wes didn't like sharing details about his personal life. He was a solitary person but the truth was it was as much out of caution as it was privacy. The right thing said could all too easily get to the wrong person. The surest way to hurt a vampire was to hurt someone or something he cared about. It was also the surest way to incur a vampire's wrath. But vengeance didn't change the past, what's done was done. So as much as he was looking forward to seeing Ashleigh again he was undecided whether or not it was something he wanted to share.
"The theatre is coming along nicely," Wes offered instead. "The repairs are rather costly but there's less of them than I expected." Which made him particularly happy because less money spent on fix-ups meant he had more money to invest in other aspects of the theatre. "It's beautiful," he said, smiling. Stepping through the building's doors was like stepping back into time. "I'll need to start looking for an acting troupe."
