Wes made a sound of derision. "Ignore them," he said, dismissing authority in the off-handed way many vampires did. "They're fur is on too tight. They're called 'Elders' for a reason; they're old and stuck in their ways. So wrapped up in tradition and propriety that they don't see that the world is changing. Every day, inch by inch, life creeps ever onward." He shrugged, "You aren't always going to like what others say. People will disagree with you and oppose you." The burden of being a leader was making the decisions others could not. And facing the repercussions of it whatever they may be. "You can't let it unsettle you."
Another shrug. "Don't let them know they're getting to you." Leaning forward as if he were going to share a secret, the British vampire smirked and said, "It'll drive them insane." He chuckled. "I'm all for driving those bags of fleas insane."
