Pocketing the demo he had been given, Wes smirked and said, "I'll take notes." He would give the CD a preliminary listen during the drive back to his apartment. After that, depending on his first impressions of the songs, he'd listen to them a few more times. He was rather selective when it came to music and it made him a harsh judge. But it was needed in this line of work and he only benefitted from it.
MJ Larkwood's voice floated over the speakers and Wes fell silent while the music played, listening to it himself even though he had heard it many times before. "I'll talk to MJ tonight." He was pleased (though not surprised) Ana had liked it and it was apparent in his voice. "Celeste," his ever invaluable assistant, "will call you tomorrow to set up a meeting."
Now came the internal debate. Did he tell Anahid about the new werewolf? Part of Wes--a large part--felt it wasn't his problem. He didn't see the need to drag Justin into trouble. The boy wanted to be left alone and Wes understood and respected that. But another part of him--the smaller, duty acknowledging part--felt something should be said. It was risking lives if he didn't. Lives like Ashleigh's that he very, very much disliked the idea of being in danger.
"Now, business aside," Wes pocketed her CD as if to solidify this statement, "how have things been? It's been a few months since I talked to you last."
