Happy, a brilliant, all-encompassing smile overtook Kira's features, "Great!" For some reason, even as she had put the offer out there, she had thought Justin would refuse. She was glad he hadn't. "You'll love it." At least, she hoped he would. She thought it was impossible for anyone with a love for music not to like Last Chance Records. It was just one of those places. "Promise."
The subway train jerked to a start again and pulled out of the station.
"Thanks," said Kira, smiling at Justin's almost compliment. "I've wanted to act on Broadway ever since I was little." While other girls her age were pretending to be pop-stars with tube-tops and heavy make-up she was pretending to be a stage actress with sequins and bright colors.
Tilting her head to the side, Kira regarded Justin curiously, "So what are some of your other favorite movies?" They had one movie in common and she wondered if there would be others. "Liking High Fidelity earns you some points but," she eyed him in pretend distrust, teasing, "it could've just been a fluke."
