"Like secrets, do you?" asked Kira, her smile mischievous. She was only teasing but the joke still somehow fell flat and there was an awkward moment of silence as she realized it had only made Justin uncomfortable. Her smile became apologetic and then softened. "No, sorry, I understand what you mean. It makes it more," she paused, searching for the right word, "special." She smiled. "Cause even when the rest of the world finally knows about the band it'll still have been yours first. Always will be."
Kira smiled at Justin. She liked that he wanted to be the one who discovered the band instead of being in the band that was discovered. It was different. "Well," she said with a sad sigh that didn't disguise the smile hiding at the corners of her mouth, "Your dream job has mine beat. I was gonna say I'd be a pirate." Clearly only joking, she continued, "Colorful clothes, sailing, plunder, swashing buckles... Could be fun." She then shrugged and a blush stole across her cheeks, "Really what I'd do if I could do anything is," she held up her hands in a defensive gesture, "and this is unoriginal, I know, to star in a Broadway hit. Maybe Cabaret or Phantom of the Opera or even Les Mis." She smiled as if sharing a secret, "But what I'd really want would for it to be something new. Be known for the role, you know? Kinda create it."
