Nate walked up the four stairs exiting the Cellar Bookstore, arms laden with leather-bound tomes as he balanced his coffee on top of them to free a hand for the little iron gate on the sidewalk. He had just spent a good four hours reading, procrastinating his final edit which was due tomorrow, and picking up some books he'd had ordered from the rare and used bookshop. So immersed in balancing his coffee he turned without looking, bumping into someone and sending his coffee flying to the ground. Thankfully the hot liquid missed the books and himself, despite the fact two of the novels had gone flying off the top as well. "I'm so sorry," he said with a smile, turning around. "I--" the woman beside him was absolutely stunning, and he lost his train of thought. "--didn't... see... you," he finished lamely.
