The rest of the Avengers were beaten, bloody but managed to fight the Iron Legion. It wasn't a win, exactly. Tony finally scrapped Friday. It was impossible to assess how much damage had been done, or what systems weren't infected with the Master's machinations.
But he had an idea. If Jane Smith was The Doctor, it meant K-9 had been built by the Doctor. Tony still had the computer from when SHIELD asked him to consult for them. It was in storage at the facility. If anyone other than JARVIS could sort out what the Master had done, or even find the Doctor, it was K-9.
It looked hilariously outdated set up in the conference room with the other Avengers seated in there. (Thor had left the moment he heard the word Ragnarok but everyone else was present and nursing their wounds.)
"This thing only responds to you, right?" Tony asked, as he powered on a computer with what looked like a Windows '98 operating system. "I've networked it with the rest of the computers. Let's find out what it can do."
Something else was joining them in the conference room, the familiar vwrop! vworp! announced the presence of the TARDIS before it appeared. Had the Master come to finish them off? Rory stood and was ready for another round, or at least told himself he was.
Tony swore, he still couldn't call upon his Iron Man suit until the situation with the computers was fixed. But if the Master had come with reinforcements to finish them off, despite the Avengers being a stronger team than ever, it wasn't bad as far as timing went.
The doors of the TARDIS opened, "Quite a lot, actually!" Eleven stated. "Do you know how hard it was to build that thing without my sonic screw driver? I was really trying to impress you," she said to Steve.
Behind her came River, as promised, and one more surprise: the Winter Soldier himself.
