The Doctor was particularly cranky, letting the guard go and waiving him away, motioning for her first human companions and her grandson to get back into the TARDIS. Susan didn't argue, but he waved and thanked Steve as he trotted off with his teachers.
She looked down at Steve's hand and examined it, pulled out the screwdriver again and used it to scan him. "I suppose I shall know you in the future, hmm? I do not believe I've ever had the pleasure of knowing a human out of order, but I suppose I shall have to expect it if I am to spend any amount of time on your planet. Don't tell me anything, not even to warn me. If you think that's awkward it's because you've never been to a Gallifreyan Family Reunion or wedding."
Satisfied that his physical health was not in immediate danger, she put the sonic away.
"You called me. No one has ever called the TARDIS before, though I suppose there is a first time for everything. Answer me carefully: are you quite alright?"
