Despite how much she wanted to, Sabev could not sleep forever. The sun's lazy caress encouraged her body to remain lazy, but her mind rebelled at the idea, throwing off dreams fully and letting her hear the world around her.
She could feel Ilyien close. Not just mentally close, but physically as well. She thought of the dream she'd had and the lingering feeling of want that it had left her with. She knew wholly how she felt about him, but had not spoken a word of it, lest he laugh in her face. Ranulf Ilyien was a noble bird, a strong and capable creature. She did not live up to him, and she'd caused him a good deal more trouble than she was sure she was worth.
Not to mention he'd already found and lost his life-mate.
Sabev would never presume to think she could ever take that spot.
It was good to have him as a friend, though, and she would do everything that she could to assure that never changed. She would show him her love as best she could without crossing the line that she oh so very much wanted to cross.
Finally, after a gentle war with herself on the matter of waking - a war she did not shield from her friend, as she thought that it might bring him a smile, Sabev opened her eyes and looked upon the world she was in. Briefly, she extended herself, feeling for any other phoenix, finding none. So not home, then.
Smiling a little bashfully, the little phoenix sat up and smiled. "I think I was enjoying the sun a little too much."
