She looked back at him. "I did, didn't I?" she asked him. And she could see that brilliant mind of his turning the facts over and over again in his head, trying to make sense of it. Rose wasn't quite able to make sense of it, herself, and she'd been the one to say it.
"Come on," she said, tugging him forward more. She was surprised he wasn't fighting her or yelling at her. "We have all night, right? It's not even 4." It was stalling, and she knew it, but she needed time to sort it out.
