She sighed, not particularly liking what he was insinuation. "No. My answer was this," she responded, motioning between the two of them. "Talking to you and hopefully not having to discover the sort of reaction I would have to such a thing. I had been expecting concern on whether or not I would make an appropriate Queen, not inquiries into the nature of my relationship with you. How else was I suppose to respond when the answer did not belong to the individual asking the question."
She shook her head at that. "It is not a precedent set by your actions." She was not, per say, upset with him. It was circumstance surrounding what had led them to this conversation that upset her. He could not have controlled all of them, which left a portion of the blame to be directed elsewhere. "I did not seek out this conversation to fight with you." It seemed regardless of her intent, however, they had still managed to develop a certain tension in the room.
As he moved her head followed him until he had passed by her and she returned her gaze to the desk he had been sitting at when she had arrived, her facial expressions lost to him in his movement. "No," the quite response marred by a small frown stealing across her features with his words, "my permission is irrelevant." Irrelevance seemed to be a theme that she recently could not avoid.
"Is that then what you wish of me?" she asked, her thoughts have as she considered what had drawn her to seek out this very conversation. "I would happily give you that family, you know that I would. But I must confess that I am having trouble understanding how such a thing will grow or flourish when you return to the not so subtle affections of a Queen who has little regard for the connection you have with me." Perhaps it was jealousy that moved her to speak, or perhaps the dislike that had developed for the other woman. She could not be entirely sure, but it did not make the concern any less prevalent.
"You found amusement in my concern regarding her the last time we spoke," she continued, turning in her seat to locate him. "Do you still hold that amusement or has it turned to something more?"
