It was Olivia's most dreaded task - laundry. Even though she was a vampire, she still needed clean clothes. Life as a vampire wasn't the same as in the movies. She wasn't filthy rich with a bunch of servants who bent to her every whim and desire. She didn't have the money to buy her own washer and dryer, nor did she want to spend the money to have it sent out. Now that her and Andrew were no longer together as husband and wife, she had an apartment. It was small, cold, lonely. The luxury of doing laundry in her own home now seemed like a far-off memory.
When she had first arrived at the laundromat, she was alone. Being the only person there had its benefits. If she really wanted to, she would've taken more than just two washers, but being the late morning, she assumed more people would arrive shortly and need the space. As soon as she thought about taking at least one more washer, another person walked in. She looked up from the pile of clothes she was sorting and offered a warm, friendly smile. "Hello," she said.
