"Perhaps only friend, platonic friend, who he wants to hang on to, not harm in any way." she called, for Abel's benefit. It wasn't such a bad thing that Erick wasn't more social, then he would know their conversation was odd for other reasons and might have even taken offense. As it was Erick was too sweet and calm to ever be more than mildly annoyed, she didn't fault Abel for asking though, after all he didn't know the nix. She only wished that there was something more she could do to put his mind at ease about the men around her that didn't involve cutting them out of her life. She and Abel would likely have to have a talk about his insecurities later, for now she just wanted that easy peace between them all.
"You can certainly have some if you want," she said with a quick glance to her boyfriend as she moved to pick up the expensive bottle. "I thought sipping whiskey was more an evening thing. Then again I don't usually have wine at breakfast, do I?" she moved between them on purpose as she made her way back, stopping only a moment to squeeze Abel's shoulder and press an adoring kiss to his temple. It was a silent thank you, knowing he was doing his best to be good for her when he likely would have 'zapped away', or whatever he would have done to her friends, the two other men who gave her gifts on her birthday if she would have let him get away with it.
"Though it's a miracle he can still be my friend," she said with a smile as she returned to the kitchen and set to opening the bottle Erick gave her. "He was trying to teach me the guitar for a while but it really wasn't working out. He could always tell when I didn't practice and I never practiced so I never got any better. I think I'm gonna stick to singing, fewer people complain and it's easier to do, especially when drunk."
