Despite Erick's social shortcomings he could tell that there was some kind of dynamic here at play besides what he could easily see. The man was frustrated and Roxy was deflecting. He chose to ignore it on the moment to focus on the spark in Roxy's eyes when she spied his gift. Her happiness pleased him, brought a grin to his face, and the fact that it stemmed from something he'd made for her caused a surprising upswell of pride. He'd never given anything like that to anyone and with Nixen being largely selfish by nature he'd never thought that gift-giving could be rewarding. It was a positive conclusion even if it was somewhat puzzling.
Left alone with Abel, Erick was at a loss as for what exactly to do. He interacted with many humans, but this was different. Roxy cared for this man. He wasn't personally invested one way or the other regarding how he was perceived, but he did care if affronting Roxy's lover would make her cold to his company. "It's good to meet you. I'm sorry if this was a bad time." he said with a smile that was not nearly as bright as the one he'd given Roxy. He did remember that he'd caught them in the middle of what humans generally considered to be an intimate moment and so thought he should say something. He was not actually all that sorry. They didn't have to stop what they were doing on his account, but he knew that humans could be touchy regarding such matters.
