"You remember that when you need me to run out halfway though the movie to get you more of something." Having his own bag didn't stop him from stealing from hers just to cause trouble. It was his revenge, he said, for her always trying his hot chocolate when she had her own. But he really did know how much those tiny entitlements meant to her. He wouldn't have taken them away if he could. All those little things that were unique to a couple were even more so from her point of view. He hadn't realized initially how big a deal it was how readily she sought out simple contact from him, but he knew now. Everything about it was amazing when he stopped to think about it.
"I wonder if they have drive-ins anywhere down here. I bet we could find one." He remembered one or two from back "home", after all, and if they had them in Minnesota, he reasoned that everywhere did.
"I don't think we need a giant popcorn machine. Besides, it'll ruin some of the fun of going out. I love being home with you, but if we spoil ourselves too much we aren't ever going to leave. And scarier yet, Hailey might never want to leave. I don't think Mikino'll be too keen on you adopting her."
