She could only guess at how difficulty it was for him to spend so much time away. She'd never really had to face much time away from her own Father when she was a child. Of course, the former Head of the Dubhghail house had not been Judgement nor had he been the Lord Regent. Outside of his duties as the controlling seat in the West, there had been little to keep him from returning home when he deemed his obligations fulfilled. Her Mother still remained, but the two of them were not as close as one might expect. Perhaps they were too similar in their desire to go their own way that it prevented any sort of closeness from developing. Either way, she supposed, she did not feel at a loss for it.
"I still do," she admitted with some amusement. Lifting her hand without hesitation, she placed it in his own when he offered, "even though said teasing has matured along the way. I'd seen you so often with that satisfied look on your face at having gotten what you wanted, I was curious to see what would happen when you didn't. You'll be happy to know I was never disappointed by your persistence." She enjoyed seeing the sides of people not normally seen and there were only a few who did not succumb to his charm or influence.
His disdainful glance to her corset drew another smile from her. "Such discouragement would suit me well, though I believe your motivation has less to do with breathing," she laughed, "either way, I find myself looking forward to the changing of my wardrobe."
It had been a long time since she'd indulged in this sort of banter and she realized she had missed it in it's absence. "We shall see what comes of it," she offered, unsure herself about whether or not she would come to find a place for herself at court ... or at least a place that she wished to hold.
"Most certainly," she nodded, her curiosity sinning in her eyes. Some days it was harder to contain than others and he had given her the perfect invitation to indulge.
