Faith felt someone watching her, and she turned towards him. He was quite handsome, at first glance, but she wasn't interested at all right now. Who would want her anyway when she talked to ghosts that no one else could see? She turned to James, and gave him a look. "There's a lot of people around here, James. It's not as if I don't want to see you, but I don't want anyone to think I'm crazy." She said, casting her glance on Benjamin. She really hoped James would take the bait.
Laughing, he shook his head. "I don't think anyone's paying that much attention to you." He didn't know what was awaiting him on the other side, but James knew it wasn't Faith. He was being incredibly stubborn, and he knew that. James didn't really mind if he was being stubborn, because he was with her. He had hated to die and leave her alone. He knew that she was alone besides her father. James had been the one saving grace for her after she had lost her mother. And then she lost him, too? He couldn't leave her.
Faith looked at him, as if pleading. "James, please." She said, not knowing what would be the words to get him to go away. She loved him still, and a part of her was glad he was here. She just.... she didn't know what she was going to end up if she let him stay here. She wouldn't want to move on, she wouldn't want to have a productive life. She'd want to stay mired in the past. That was no kind of life. She should want to move on with her life. That was why she was always asking him to go. She knew it was bad for her.
Turning to look at Benjamin, she said, "I'm really not a nutter. I swear. I just... I'm a medium." Faith said, sighing with resignation. She didn't think it was wrong to lie, and she would deal with whatever he thought because of that. "I see and talk to spirits, get them to cross over. James is my ex, and he passed on. I can't get him to go to the other side."
