Shaking her head, Elay suppressed a smile. Andrew was a nice guy. Albeit frustrating, she was glad he wasn't someone here to force her into joining Aegis. That wouldn't have worked at all. "I love where I work, now. I get free lotion and discounts on clothing. I don't think I'll get that benefit working for Aegis," she said. The waitress returned with their drinks a moment later. Elay opened the straw left by her glass and took a sip of water.
The food on the menu looked good, but she settled for a bowl of soup. That wasn't going to fill her up too much, and it wasn't expensive either. "Is the soup good?" she asked Andrew. He would know more than anyone else since he came here during breaks and for lunch. The question about killing a parent was heavy on her mind. On one hand, no, it would be wrong to just suspect it. But it was also wrong to just let the vampire get killed when you're supposed to be protecting them.
"Well, why not allow a vampire to kill a Hunter if the Hunter tries to kill them? Self-defense. And being Aegis, you guys probably have all this cool technology. You could probably put a Hunter in handcuffs with ease. The more we talk about it, the more I realize how similar Hunters are to wild animals..." she said, stirring her water around with her straw.
