September 30th Who | Avalynn and Mikino Where | Ava's Rooms, Court. What | An inevitable discussion.
Her thoughts continued to play out the conversation she had shared with the Chaldean the day before, though time, it seemed, did not sooth the slight she found in it. She was still disgusted by what she had found and she feared it would not lesson during her time at Court. She could understand now, why her Father had never been such a fan of spending his time there, doing so only when obligations drove him there. Success at court was not based on ones own merit, rather rumors and manipulation used to gain the next prize in your sight. If nothing else, she could agree with one thing the Chaldean had said. She was not suited to life at Court. She did not have the personality to sit idly by and watch those around her show how very little their morals extended past their own interest.
Her first instinct had been to leave Court. It was a temptation to turn her back on the farce that was taking place currently, but it was not an option she could choose just yet. She knew well enough that the Chaldean would waste no time in sharing her disapproval with Mikino. A brief flare of irritation rose at that thought. Oh yes, they would make an excellent match, in deed. Of course, with the exception that she was obviously seen only as an obstacle to over come. The compliment, if one was gracious enough to consider it such, stood next to the obvious suggestion that she should step back and realize she was an excellent match second to one who would use her friend to secure her own acceptance among the people. Then to ask her if she would swear her loyalty to said individual? Having spent so long tearing apart the foundation of trust and friendship that would have been the base for their union, it was an obvious slap in the face that the Chaldean had offered. One, in which, Ava was not so willing to simply absorb like a mindless subject who knew nothing but a blind faith.
She had not sent for Mikino once she had returned to her room. She felt there was no need to as she was confident he would make his way there soon enough. It was his course of action, she could not guarantee. Sitting in the window seat, she waited quietly for the inevitable. One way or another, change occurred. It would depend on Mikino as to which path she would take.
