September 23rd, 2013 Who | Avalynn Dubhghail and Aneirin Calmcacil Where | Calmcacil Estates What | A shift in the West
There were many things in the last few days that had brought old memories back to Ava’s thoughts. As Nye laid his Father to rest, she remembered having done so for her own. She remembered the scent of the flowers, she remembered facing the condolences of those who had come to give them, and she remembered it raining as though the sky, itself, saw fit to share in her emotions. Even with those memories haunting her steps, Ava did all that she could to ease the strain for the brothers. Now, three days after they had returned from the Northeastern border, she walked the halls of the Calmcacil state in search of Aneirin. The halls were far quieter than she had ever remembered them being, leaving her footsteps to echo around her; a certain sense of isolation in the sound.
She was a familiar presence on the estate and had been since she was a child. Asking after the older of the Calmcacil son’s presented her with a location and it took her but moments to find him in his personal rooms. Having his guard announce her and, for once, waiting for him to allow her entrance, Ava moved through the doors to meet him. She did not bother to ask him how he was. It was a pointless question that had irritated when she had been in his position.
Familiar enough with him that she was not concerned with propriety, she reached to take he's hand and led him out onto the balcony where the fresh air could reach them, it’s cooler tendrils wrapping around them and bringing with it the scent of the woods down from the Mountains. It was as soothing a thing as she had to offer. "I know you would rather not discuss politics right now, particularly in the face of the obligations you know face," she started, leaning against the railing, her head turned to meet he's eye, "but you’ll have to forgive me. There are things I need to discuss with you. Things that will change things far more than what is happening within your home."
