Ava would have preferred to stay in the West and oversee the continued combing of Rhuneithel, but such a desire could not be indulged. It had been a tense four days since she had sent her men into the mountains. Old theories had been set aside to make room for new ones and hopes dashed in the face of loss. The information she had gathered at this point would not be trusted through a messenger to Court. She was obligated to deliver the report herself, ensuring that it fell only into the hands that were meant for it. Whether or not she was willing to face Court just then was of little concern. Word had already been sent and she was expected to be there.
She had the lingering suspicion that Nye might have preferred to remain with the Generals, now stationed just outside of Calmcacil lands, but she requested that his presence remain tied to her own. Whether or not the request ruffled the young Lords feathers, Ava knew well enough that she would need him with her. The situation in the West was currently contained as best it could be and there was little left there for him to do save venture into the mountains himself and that was not a path she would see him walk without her.
Upon arriving at Court, Ava excused herself from the presence of her guard, taking only Nye with her as they approached the Chaldean`s Quarters. He would not be permitted to enter with her, of course, but the familiar presence was soothing enough. The waited patiently for a moment, before Ava left him and ventured further into where the Chaldean would be waiting for her. She had replaced the dark riding clothes associated with her forces for her usual house colours, presentation was just as important as the report held in her hands. At the very least, she would not fail in that.
Clearing the final level of security, Ava entered the Chaldean's sitting room: the same place she had held her council before. She had not, however, been expecting Mikino's presence and the sight of him caused her to hesitate for just a moment before continuing forward. There was little to be done save greet them as their stations required. The tension she felt, would have to be endured. "Chaldean Aranui. Judgement. My gratitude for agreeing to this meeting on such short notice. I hope I find you well."
