the war drums had sounded and Fredric had delayed his departure to the North, for now, to report to the Queen and her trusted functionaries. After the fighting had worn down, Fredric had been loathe to stay longer when a quick counterattack was the desired response to the gall the Elves had shown in attacking the Palace, the heart of the Fae territories. He had joined in with palace forces in directing a Fae response as the Sylph had done their own dirty deeds against the elves. Since then his mind has been north, reviewing mental tactics against an enemy.
The arrival of the Queen brought a smile to his lips, the rumors were true and although banged up, she was still alive. He stood in respect to her as she entered, bowing his head before listening to both the reports given by other Noble heads of families. After his lovely western neighbor had given her report he began with his own.
Nodding to Lady Dubghail he looked toward Sidonie and began listing off reports and intentions. "My Queen, Northern forces report no movements of any kind into Mekhal lands of any kinds. I would have expected at least a feeler probe to determine our force strength if they had intended to come through our lands from the Wilders. If Lady Dubhghail's reports are correct, we may see movement through the Dead Marshes on our western border, skirting our defensive positions in the North of our lands." Fredric reached out for his glass of water taking a drink, swallowing hard before continuing. "I've sent word home to mobilize all of our Legions in preparation for assualts into the Wilders to drive back any elf forces settled or camping near the border, as well as our Auxiliary forces that are more mobile and capable of maneuvering around sizable enemy concentrations. I believe a strong show of force is required in retaliation of this cowardly attack."
