The queen smirked at him, “Well then the quartermaster would have to answer to me if he would have caused you trouble.” She said to him, it was nice to make light of joking. Though the queen wasn’t sure how long she could continue to laugh when things weighted heavily on her mind – but she did appreciate him for trying to distract her mind. Looking around the room when he explained about his family home, and smiled again. She loved hearing stories about fae who would stay together to the bitter end. Not many would have that chance at a happy ending.
“Your mother has really good taste. Perhaps she would honor me in helping with the decorations at the palace when everything is back in order.” She smiled sadly and looked up to see a tray of food and drinks being brought in. Once it was set about the queen was offered a tea but she didn’t drink from it and instead went for one of the fruits but didn’t eat it yet. “Every time I think of eating I just remember what I seen in that Throne Room…” She whispered and put down the fruit. She would need to eat eventually.
