He didn't preen, he didn't swell or puff up his chest, he didn't put a big goofy smile on his face, he didn't even make a sound after he had been kissed. He did let a very tiny grin settle on his lips though, after all it wasn't possible for him not to react to the kiss. He promised himself that he wasn't going to let it go to his head, to read too much into it or think it indicative of her feelings for him, just that he was going to enjoy the little show of affection. Just a little return on the comfort he was showing her, but he would treasure the memory of it for years to come.
"Indeed we do." he let her go of course. "My father is in the library, planning Viorel troop movements, positioning the correct liaison in the correct places, looking as if he's ready to jump on his horse and lead the charge now. It's all quite something. I tend to think we need intel, get in touch with Lord Judgement, make sure the Lords and Ladies of the other houses are alive and still yours. Wake up your military intelligence, ask them why they didn't see this coming and what are they doing to make up for it and to save their miserable skins. They were dreadfully sedentary when I was among them." All just suggestions of course, but it stuck close to all that military training he had turned his back on not so long ago.
"Have you eaten, Your Majesty?" he asked, his right hand grasped the wrist of his left behind his back, though he wasn't wholly shifting gears from that comforting if she should need it again. He was still very concerned for her, even if she seemed better, and took a small measure of comfort in knowing that while she was still in the care of the Viorels he was not going to leave her side. "I am told it is folly to plan on an empty stomach, though I would not blame you if you had no appetite."
