He waved the others away when she turned her back on them. As shaken up as she was she didn't need the added stress of being so closely watched. He wasn't about to tell her that she shouldn't be upset either, the Palace was her home, she likely would have known most if not all who had been killed or injured, war was now at her doorstep, she had every right to be upset. When they were alone he put a comforting but respectful hand upon her shoulder. "There was word that you had been killed but I had refused to believe it. I cannot say that I believe that your Chaldean has perished either, she is a strong woman wit powers and abilities likely beyond my comprehension. It is unthinkable that she would fail you now by falling."
What could he say at this point? Trite platitudes for the most part. It isn't over until it is over, everything will be alright, and countless other things that would show that he meant well but couldn't give her any real answers of reassurances. He wished there was something he could tell her that would put her mind at ease but it didn't seem like it was to be. It felt a little like someone had chopped off his tongue and expected him to make a speech.
His other hand went to her other shoulder, hoping to help her shaking stop. "The situation is... Terrible. But we can overcome this, and we will do so because of your leadership. I beg you to take all of these few moments of rest that you can while you are here, for your own sake and for ours. I am yours to command, Your Majesty, as is my household and my lands and my people, you need but to speak the words and we all will do whatever you require, without hesitation."
