"I swear it, Chaldean, without hesitation-" As the last word left his lips they were interrupted and his eyes went to his former friend and future brother-in-law. He wasn't exactly happy to have this happen now, when he was about to show that he was better than his reputation suggested he was, but he did not appear bothered. It was good to see the other man, he hadn't seen him since he had given up on trying to get in contact with his sister and at the time he had been sympathetic. Of course it was different now, he had clearly heard the talk about Eoin and the look he gave him silently suggested that he was going to be in pain at his hands at some point in the near future. Eoin didn't react at all, simply watching him until he and the others left the room, the urge to grow contemplative and broody tugging at him. He ignored it just as he did Judgement's more proper greetings to the others.
He understood it of course, aside from the likely urge to poke Eoin into some sort of reaction because it would have amused him, it was a clever little test. He wouldn't have expected any less of the man, not with the reputation he had. But Eoin wasn't so easily goaded. If that was from the military discipline drummed into him or just the life of politics and of nobility that he had lived since birth, it was difficult to tell. Thankfully being difficult to ruffle had turned out to be an asset.
"Oh being outnumbered is a feeling I am very much used to. As was that look the Lord Salicar shot at me. One of the many results of the bad decisions I made in the past. Were I not so dedicated to reforming myself it would be very discouraging." it was a weaker smile but it was an sincere one. Of course he had doubts about his own dedication to such matters, but those were private and only came to him late at night when he was alone and knew very well that the situation could be easily remedied. But during the day, in the presence of others, he was a great deal more confident.
