Andrew and Mel Day 2, take 2 Early Morning Their Home
The trip to get “just a few” things took longer than either intended, but neither had anywhere to be the next day, so there was no reason not to stay up late getting things situated in the house and listening to music, which was one more place where their taste differed and playful criticisms could be exchanged. Dinner was eaten late as well, picnic-style out by the pool, since as he said, they couldn’t really eat it in her favorite place.
Waking up before her was never an issue when they hadn’t set alarms. Even having been up late the night before, early mornings were ingrained in Andrew. He took the time to set up the scenario in the library again, only this time he had the foresight to make her look at the book by tucking a flower (which he had subtly suggested they get for the table the night before) against the open page, which now had ”Take 2. Look at the book, already!” written across the page. The trouble now was that there was no reason for her to go straight to the library except that she would eventually want to end up there and he would have to be watching for that moment so he could end up with her. When she came down the stairs, it would be to the smell of sausage and biscuits cooking, and he was counting on that being enough to draw her to the kitchen rather than to stop off and check on her books. He really didn’t want to not be there if she did find it.
The potential energy of it was enough to set him on edge and it presented itself with more pep than even his usual morning demeanor. It was easy enough to explain away though. It was their first morning here. They had been through plenty of days waking up in the same house, eating breakfast together, but there was always an expiration date on their time their. He would have to go back to his place, or she would have to go to hers. Those words didn't apply to much anymore.
