Mel and Andrew At Home! Morning (Andrew's favorite!)
They had finished that library of hers first, right down to the smallest detail she had dreamed up. This enabled the coven to begin the transfer of her belongings, to set things up, so that when she stepped in she would be met with rows upon rows of books rather than empty shelves (though no doubt she would have delighted in filling them). Their belongings had been moved in but most were still boxed up. Only two of the rooms were set up. It was a task they could have left to others, but Andrew wanted the experience of it. He had moved a time or two in his life, but this was to be their first home together, and he was looking forward to the task of finding everything its proper place—so much for needing parties and big plans to keep him interested.
The yard was fairly plain for now, but that was to satisfy her need for space to fill. She would no doubt be dragging him back to that greenhouse to fulfill his promise of “once the house is finished” plant shopping. He parked in the driveway, as had always been his wont. Horses were never going to be his thing, no matter how Mikino pressed him to at least learn to ride. Today it made sense for them to be going in the front door, though. The sidewalk led to an archway which brought them into the walled off “courtyard”, which Henry had thoughtfully noted would be an excellent place for a swingset someday. He had insisted she wait to see everything until it was finished, but the cottage-style exterior was picture perfect and it was astounding to see those pictures they had sorted through come to life now.
He was holding her hand on the slow walk up that stone pathway, but he stopped short of the door, jingling a key out in front of himself. “Well,” he tore his eyes from the building to catch hers, “you can unlock it if you like, but you’re getting carried in.”
