What : A letter to the Queen
A letter, sealed magically by a house-hired Magi is delivered to Queen Sidonie early in the morning.
Your Majesty, Queen Sidonie de la Sidra,
No doubt word has reached your ears of harsh words and accusations traded between myself and Chaldean Reihana while occupying The Hounds Tooth. There were several notable nobles in attendance and they heard the exchange. I believe that Chaldean Reihana took the event personally, especially as I laid opinion and further exposed rumors toward the Lord Regent, as did some of the nobles.
My reasons were not divulged to The Chaldean, and I would have it no other way for it made the lie that much stronger. As it were, my brazen words were said purposefully, in that place, with that company. In an attempt to root out rebellion against yourself as well as both The Chaldean and the Lord Regent, I wanted those who would think to rise hand or blade against you to think they have an ally, a leader capable of throwing his trained hand into the fight. I write this letter only to you, to prevent this façade from being exposed in case the wrong people with flapping tongues might read it and spread the news.
So far, my plan has worked, and several landless, but wealthy nobles have already come forth, proposing scheme of the most dubious nature. Their names have been forwarded to Lord Judgment in a separate letter and I’m sure that he will contact you about them in the future as his loyalty is without question and he serves the crown well.
In a few days I will be leaving for the Northlands, to prepare for the great hunt. I promise your time will be enjoyed most thoroughly and the sights will be most memorable. I look forward to showing you our accomplishments and my people will fondly remember the day their Queen came to see them, for all time. I ask to see you at least one more time before I leave and will await your summons with apprehension.
Lord Fredric
