"Understood, sir," J-S said with military discipline in his voice, straightening up in his chair subconsciously. He would do what was healthiest for their people, of course, and that by no means meant things would be easy. If it came to that, he would do what he had to to protect the two of them.
"I don't know why anyone would think this elevates them above humans. I suppose in that humans are our prey now, but humans can prey on each other just as easily. Their appetites are just different than ours," J-S said as he relaxed in the chair. "I'm glad we're of like mind."
