She smiled softly as her eyes went a little sad. It was so different from the pace of life she knew, but it sounded lovely. And it hurt to hear about one more person out of place. She'd always done her best to try to put others at ease, but there was only so much that could be done. She wished, for a moment, that she could be there in the still and the quiet now, taking in the peace she usually spent trying to give to others.
Talking about her problems was the last thing she'd wanted to do tonight. The moment she could, she'd taken off and gotten as far away as she could. She would have run even farther, but there was no running from herself. Seemed wherever she went, her problems were still there. So tonight she'd thought to maybe drown them out under the noise.
But there was no polite way to dodge the question when he put it to her now. So she answered as best she could. "I guess I was just looking for a change." She smiled sadly. "I thought loud would be good, but listening to the way you put it, maybe quiet would have been better. It sounds nice, snow and peace and all of it."
