Lux's parents weren't supposed to be back for hours and probably wouldn't be. But that didn't mean a key didn't jostle in the lock for a moment before someone pushed the door open and entered the house. They weren't Xavier's parents, at least not both of them. But he'd never given it a lot of thought, trying to keep the relationship more civil than not. He didn't expect anyone to be home, honestly. He'd gotten a text earlier in the day that they would be out but that they'd call later - but he was impulsive and figured they wouldn't mind the surprise. He'd told them he'd be in touch shortly. This probably just wasn't the kind of communication they had been expecting.
Xavier dropped his bag down in the kitchen, the rest of his luggage still in the car for the time being, and was already making himself at home going for the fridge to dig around for a bottle of water or something similar while he waited. The tall blond was hard to miss in the interim, taking much a good bit of the kitchen - he was mostly shoulders and smile when someone was paying attention and right then he was preoccupied with the long flight and his own exhaustion. Or he might have noticed he wasn't alone in the house.
