Liliana and Audric Audric's Place (Liliana's now!) Evening sometime, whenever he gets home
Breaking the news about her volunteer work
No one had given her any fuss about going inside when Audric wasn’t home. It was good that he had left orders to that effect because she would have coaxed someone into allowing it anyway and then felt badly for getting them into trouble later. When Audric came in, she had already made herself quite at home. She sat on the floor by the fire, legs curled to one side and propped on one arm, swallowed up in one of his button-downs. She had a habit of taking what she wanted when it came to clothing, but Audric had never scolded her for it, and she was still probably lower maintenance in that sense than he was accustomed to.
The fire still comforted her. She would watch those flames until her eyes blurred sometimes. It wasn’t a sure sign of a poor mood. She tended toward being quieter, milder, more often than not. Liliana was the perfect little picture of zen. Her natural inclination toward allure made every pose she took into an exotic boudoir shot, but that made it hard to tell when it was intentional and when it was just in her nature. Not that she ever took much convincing where Palais was concerned.
That was all they should have been. She would have been content with that. But he took it upon himself to show her around the human world. He'd even gotten her to wear shoes for some of it. It could certainly pose a problem for his lifestyle if he brought a girl home and one was already there wearing his shirt, but Lili wouldn't have understood the dilemma. It wasn't as if she was disturbing anything in her mind.
