The apology was what stopped her, head tipped forward a she listened, and eventually turned to face him fully again. Her gaze fell directly upon him, undaunted, unafraid, no matter how much or how little cause there was to feel such a thing.
"My activities... Hm..." She spoke the words thoughtfully, hesitating a moment for whatever considerations she felt necessary.
"Alright. I will hear your question before I determine whether or not it is worth answering. But I doubt it is human blood giving you instinct enough to fear. They see me as your pretty words would have it, an exceptional example of their own kind. They see precisely what you see... They just haven't the resolve to be timid." She enjoyed flattery, relished it. Being doted on made up her entire life, however, and he had set a different tone, one that wouldn't be shattered with candied words.
