Sunday Afternoon
Abel and Kaylee
Phone Call
Sunday Afternoon
Time tended to get away from her. She had no excuse. Not with a smartphone pretty much attached to her at all times. But there it was all the same, and when she was flipping through her phone contacts to call a classmate, the first name on the list was Abel Haskel, and she remembered that she was supposed to have called him… It had to be almost a month ago at this point. Now that she was thinking of him, it was hard to imagine she had forgotten him to begin with. He wasn’t exactly your run-of-the-mill anything.
She probably should have been a little more embarrassed, maybe even to the point of not calling now at all, but she figured better late than never. Kaylee had a little bit of that Moreau tendency to be blasé over what could have been awkward situations, though not to the extent that Andrew managed by any means. She chalked that up to society putting more pressure on women, and left it at that.
So now she forgot her questions about course assignments and ended up pressing a fingertip to Abel’s contact number instead. She sat back against the arm of Andrew’s couch, feet propped up on the cushion in front of her, and waited for him to answer.
