Gabe ++
The trip out to Spirit Mountain had been interesting, and Gabe was beat. Cian had managed to get them both out to the canyon but not without Gabe exercising some 'magic-muscle' along with leg muscles to get there. That, along with the protection spells he had activated, and the strengthening of the wards Cian had first installed some years back, had taken a bit out of him. He wasn't really wanting to risk the drive back up the 95 to Henderson so decided to stay in Searchlight again for the evening. Cian had gone to join Rhiannon and Gabe had no food, or beer left in the fridge. With Amphitrite locked up in the garage he walked around to Lucky's, wondering if that had been a rather silly choice, given how his legs ached.
'Been too long a land lubber.'
'I really don't need any cheek out of you tonight. But thanks for the help today, as usual couldn't have done it without you.'
'I know.'
'No-one likes a smug rat.'
'You do.'
'No, I don't. I like you when you're not smug. I'm thinking it was a night I should have left you at home. I can always turn around...'
'No you can't, that means you'd have to walk further.'
'Smart ass.'
'Yes.'
'Have I told you how intolerable you can be at times?"
'Regularly. Doesn't change anything though.'
Gabe grimaced to himself and shook his head as he pushed the door of Lucky's open and entered the bar. The familiar smell and feel of the place hadn't changed, but something else had. He frowned as he looked at the new machine that was sitting there, not sure what to make of it, especially given what he'd been told about the place. After pausing to give it a longer glance he continued his journey to the bar, and sat on a stool, then noticed Nesryn and Brian a little further down, clearly in a private conversation.
He ordered himself a beer and food, and lifted his hand to give the couple a wave.
