Annie saw him go for the gun and said a quick mental prayer to her mother's God that she could successfully dodge any errant bullets before raising her chair leg and bringing it down as hard as she could on the creatures head, over and over.
It squealed and shuddered with every bullet that caught and reared back, throwing up its powerful arms and tossing Annie back into the grill. She reached back to brace herself automatically and screamed when her hand hit the still piping hot grill, quickly pulling it away. In spite of the pain, she tried to grip her makeshift weapon with both hands again, advancing on the wounded creature.
