Celeste had become pretty adept at separating herself from her emotions. It had taken a bit of practice and required a basic level of upkeep. But when one spends the night in a desert, hallucinating violently and nearly killing said self, the brunette didn't necessarily fault herself for feeling a bit...fragile.
She brought a palm up to wipe harshly at her eye and dropped the bankroll back into the bag. "Never mind." Celeste took in a deep, shaking breath. Then bent over at the waist, her ribs protesting in pain that she ignored. Her hair dropped down around her knees, creating a dark curtain to hide behind.
