Celeste clutched the envelope in one hand, making her way to the back of the restaurant. The last time she had been at the Blindeye seemed like a lifetime ago. She shot a brief look at the booth where she had sat with Frankie, negotiating over stolen diamonds and discussing the merits of carrot cake.
When she spotted James, the corner of her mouth turned up in a knowing smirk. The brunette tucked herself into a seat and checked her watch.
