Rooftop - Rhiannon, Celeste, Open
In her shoes, Rhiannon thought, she might be tempted to rip that band-aid off. Secrets festered. However, it was easy to think an answer was simple when she saw a tiny glimpse of the complexities of a stranger's life. She refocused herself on what Celeste said afterward.
"Until recently, I thought I knew my mother, even in death. I assumed she was like me, that we were on a team against the rest of my family. It turns out, she wouldn't have shared my perspective on much of anything. I'm the eccentric one. So I find myself in this position where I can reject them and tell myself I don't need them, or I can remember that they're just as complicated as me, and even if I don't like how they operate half of the time, I don't have to forget the other fifty. I can mine it for what's useful, what makes me strong in the ways I want to be. They can do the same with me."
