As she toyed with the tab in her fingers, Celeste realized that Rhiannon's statement rang true. "I guess I had always hoped that there was someone more...fully formed underneath all the bullshit that she let my father feed her." She spoke slowly, as if the words were coming to her in small batches. "And I always had this feeling of an...energy, I guess, and that it was more complicated than the idea of this single, angry, judgmental God." The brunette looked over at the hunter and smiled in the dim light. "I think the truth is a lot more beautiful and terrifying, and I like being a small part of it. So yeah, I wasn't really surprised. I think I'm a little sad, though, that I spent so long in the dark, and I could have had this family that understood."
It was more words than she was really used to saying all at once. She punctuated the end of her little speech with some more beer.
