"I guess I'm not like most people," Shelly answered, still staring at the fire. The smoky smell wasn't usually her favorite, but tonight it was oddly comforting. She bent down and located the bag of marshmallows that Maddy had so kindly provided and ripped open a corner to fish one out. "The ordinary part of course. I don't want to be ordinary." The blonde stabbed the marshmallow rather violently with the end of the poker. "And when it said 'long, ordinary life', what I heard was a long, slow, boring march toward death." She hovered the confectionary above the flames.
"And I don't know about you, Marsh, but I don't want to go out like that."
