Annie grinned. There was only one surefire way to know you've pushed a little too hard with any witness -- for them to invoke the holy name of their attorney. The entire meeting had been meant simply as a witness statement, and though Annie had been admittedly irritated from the start, the woman's responses had been telling enough in their own right.
"Funny. You're the first to threaten an attorney, did you know? I've just been here doing follow up. It's a pity you don't feel it necessary to cooperate. A pity and... interesting, I suppose."
She reached into the pocket of her silk blazer -- necessarily light for the desert climate, while still looking professional and giving space to keep her firearm well concealed -- and pulled out a business card. The Bureau may have demoted the hell out of her, but at least they printed her new business cards. Annie tossed it on the dressing table.
"In case you decide to cooperate, give me a call. If not, well... maybe I'll be in touch anyway."
Without another word, she turned and walked off, making a mental note that no matter the outcome of the Kayleigh Miller case, Wren Ohashi was someone to keep an eye on.
