"Oh, it's certainly both." John frowned, not in displeasure but in concentration as he formed a thought. "You'd think the core of people would be the same, world-over, through time." As he spoke, one hand remained in his trouser pocket. The other held a glass of some spirit or another. "And there are patterns, to be sure, but they really do operate in unique ways. That's why I've never understood Psychology as a field. It's the endless pursuit of something illusory. How frustrating! I'm surprised I didn't choose it to torture myself."
