Re: James, Gabe and Open
"An interesting combination," Gabe noted with a nod of acknowledgement as the fragrances of the burning bundle wound their way through the senses of those who were close enough to notice. He'd let his family know of the celebration being had, sent them a location in case any decided to visit and participate, but so far he'd only heard from his sister that they may attend later, which for them meant anytime, especially given the time difference between the two continents.
"My sister would probably want to know more," he added as he lifted his glass in greeting to the man who bore a mark identical to the one now on Gabe's finger. "If you're approached by a woman with long dark hair and an intensity something like a hawk after its first feed in a week, that will be her," he added, a grin curling one corner of his mouth as he took a sip from his glass. "And believe me when I tell you, her bark? Much worse than her bite." His and his sister's skills had meant the two had never actually clashed but her competitive nature had meant he'd often found himself at the short end of a potion, sometimes the worse for wear. But even more often he'd found she had had an answer to things he'd not been able to provide, while he could defend her as she concocted her brews. This had enabled them to form a truly strong brother/sister relationship that they both treasured, but never actually openly admitted to anyone, in particular one another.
