"It isn't a tradition in my homeland, no," Gabe replied, his eyes darting across to the fire, flames reaching higher than any reveller stood, yet the area still seeming cool, as if they were outdoors as the scene suggested. "Most of the significant times in our family is to do with the sea," he offered, "though my cousin's uncle had introduced my cousin's family to more of the celtic calendar and we would sometimes join in with them for a party, and he'd give us the lowdown on what it was all about." He gave a twisted grin, "you know how it is, any excuse for a party!"
The conversation was punctuated by a group of revellers who'd decided right there and then was the time to start dancing, so they did, and Gabe sidestepped slightly to avoid a swinging arm and give the dancers some more room.
"How about you? Any of these traditions a regular part of your calendar?"
