"Are you kidding?" James knelt in a sacred space of salt and symbols with a pentagram at its center. "I wouldn't miss this for the world." It sounded supportive enough, but one corner of his mouth was puckered in a smile. James looked at Izzy's contraption and thought it was part New Age shop, part Ghostbusters trap. Which meant it would probably work.
He placed the candles and a few final objects within the circle: a small cauldron to burn allspice, garnet to increase magical energy, and opal because it could absorb it. If nothing registered during the spell, Izzy might be able to pick up on it afterward. He stepped out of the circle and went closer to the blonde-haired witch, looking at the experiment alongside her. "How does it work? Is there a gauge?"
