James + Open
Having dropped off a handle of vodka and a bottle of wine, James ventured back outside, plastic cup in hand. A paper cupid’s arrow shot him in the forehead as he took to the steps. He veered out of its way. He didn’t know what he’d expected out of house party decorations, but that sure as hell wasn’t it. James made sure his chair was in a steady spot before he sat down. The fire pit was a good idea. The overnight temperature wasn’t bad -- forty-eight expected -- but it was more comfortable around a fire. He pulled a beanie out of his jacket pocket and tugged it onto his head.
