That was, Shimmer had to admit, a bright move. Then again, most of her mental energy was devoted to trying to figure out where to head and how to be able to change back, although it didn't prevent her from giving a psychopathic-sounding giggle of admiration; watching their unintentional handiwork become ungulfed in flames.
"Won't fool me with your snappy dressing and stylish hair, again!"
And she was off! It took her a few moments, to locate what was desired, but with an, "Ah!" Shimmer shouted back a rendezvous point and sunk beneath the ground, heading for the sewer. A series of lightning strikes later and she was hurtling through the water and... Admittedly, a lot of other things she would rally have preferred not to, given the choice.
When Derek reached it, Shimmer was floating in mid-air, just out of sight of most people. Upon seeing him, there was a concentrated noise of straining exertion, perhaps rivalling some of those produced by Derek's earlier vampiric slaughter. The ball of light shook with effort and... There she stood! Arms shaking, as though trying to remove herself of even the memory of having shot through so much detritus. The illusion of flesh and bones stretching her neck and rolling her shoulders, this way and that.
"God, that's hard... Whew! Wow... That was more explosive than I'm used to."
